TX + RX do not require batteries. TX is powered by the iPod and RX receives power while docked with a speaker system for iPod. 
TX+RX use industry standard Bluetooth 2.0 to stream audio between devices. Bluetooth offers excellent power management, security and ease of use. TX+RX can also be used with many other Bluetooth® devices including stereo earphones and mobile cell phones with (A2DP) capability. 
An iPod equipped with the CERULEAN TX can wirelessly stream music to the CERULEAN F1 Stereo Bluetooth Earphones. When connected, you can use the F1 to remotely change tracks, adjust volume and pause / play songs on your iPod.
